F1 The Movie

Apple Original Films and the creators of Top Gun: Maverick present the spectacular action film F1® The Movie, starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski.

The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Kosinski, seven-time Formula 1® World Champion Lewis Hamilton, Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Chad Oman.

Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was hailed as the most promising Formula 1 driver of the 1990s—until a crash nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he’s a journeyman driver hired for various races, when he’s approached by former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), now the owner of a struggling F1 team on the brink of collapse. Ruben convinces Sonny to return to Formula 1 for one last shot—both to save the team and to reclaim greatness.

His new teammate is Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), a talented rookie determined to become the fastest driver in the world. But once the engines roar to life, Sonny finds himself haunted by the past—and learns that in Formula 1, your teammate is also your fiercest rival. This comeback won't happen alone.

F1® The Movie also stars Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Javier Bardem.

The film was shot during real Grand Prix weekends, with the team racing alongside the legends of the sport.

Director Joseph Kosinski works from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, based on a story by Kosinski & Kruger. Executive producer is Daniel Lupi. Behind the scenes, Kosinski reunites with his trusted creative team: director of photography Claudio Miranda, production designers Mark Tildesley and Ben Munro, editor Stephen Mirrione, costume designer Julian Day, casting director Lucy Bevan, and composer Hans Zimmer.
